The Accountability Partner
The Accountability Partner (AP) is nominated during the admissions process and is often known to yourself perhaps as a member of the same church, Christian fellowship or existing support network. Because of this, APs tend to have a unique view into your life and are ideally suited to walk alongside you during the Freedom Journey.
The purpose of the AP role is one of encouragement and accountability, offering a reminder of the tools and Truths that if accepted onto the Freedom Journey you would be learning. AP’s are a source of support to you throughout your time on the Freedom Journey and often for a period of time after finishing. This encouragement can be essential in helping you walk out what you have learnt along the Journey and in helping deepen your connection to Christian Community.
APs sign a confidentiality agreement and we ask that they are aligned with Mercy UK’s core values of Passion for God, Passion for People and Passion for Excellence. Although APs do not receive any formal supervision, they can receive regular communication from your assignedfacilitator about the curriculum and also receive free access to the Freedom Journey curriculum resources.
